ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH
1. The ushers will take “The Catholic Home Missions” second collection. Thank you for your donations!
1A – Dear Parishioners. I would like to share with you very sad news. Last night in a Lubbock hospital our longtime parishioner Barry Mathison died. Please pray for the family who is still out of town. May Jesus Christ welcome our brother Barry into His Kingdom. May He Rest In Peace. Amen
2. Tomorrow/Today at 2 PM in our Parish, Faith Formation and All Saints Catholic School Students will receive our Lord Jesus in Holy Communion for the first time in their life. May God bless them and their families, friends, and all who helped them to be prepared for this special time.
3. We would like to remind you that our Bishop Peter Baldacchino prepared for us a special tool regarding “Proper Reception of Holy Communion”. The poster is available at the back of the church (please check the bulletin board). Also, it is outside the church and on the parish FB and the parish website.
4. The Catholic Daughters of The Americas invite us to pray the Rosary every Thursday at 7:00 p.m. during the Month of May, followed by Adoration. Please check the poster for more information, which is located at the back of the church and other parish information places.
5. Next weekend, the Sanctity of Life Ministry will kick off the annual Baby Bottle Fundraiser for the Chaves County Pregnancy Center. This local pregnancy center provides ultrasounds, counseling, parenting classes, and needed supplies for expectant mothers and their preborn or newborn children. The Pregnancy Center also offers counseling for women and men who suffer from the effects of abortion. We ask that you join us in praying for the young women and men in Roswell who need the services at the Pregnancy Center. Thank you!
6. From May 16 to June 22 Fr. Jarek will be on vacation combined with doctors’ appointments. May 22 is the first anniversary of his brother-in-law’s death, and the family will have a special Mass. Please pray especially for Fr. Jarek’s sister, Eva, and nieces, Paulina and Isabel. If you need to visit with him before his leaving please call the parish office to schedule an appointment. Please pray for our pastor and his family. Thank you!
Under the patronage of Our Lady, and centered around the Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, we will work together to spread Gospel values and the truth of the Catholic faith by living as examples of virtue, and in service to our church and community.
