ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH
1. After Mass today, the Assumption Youth Group and Confirmation students will be passing out carnations for donations to pro-life causes. We appreciate all donations.
2. On February 11, Assumption will host a blood drive by Vitalant in the parish hall. Please see the flyer on the bulletin boards for more information on how you can schedule an appointment to give blood, platelets, or plasma and receive a gift card.
3. All couples married in the Catholic Church celebrating their Paper (1st), Silver (25th), Gold (50th), or 50-plus wedding anniversary in 2025, are invited to attend a Mass at St. Peter Parish in Roswell on Wednesday, February 12 at 5:30 PM, or at the Cathedral of Immaculate Heart of Mary in Las Cruces on Thursday, February 13 at 5:30 p.m., to receive a blessing from Bishop Peter Baldacchino. Couples wishing to celebrate these milestone anniversaries must register with their parish priest no later than January 31 and provide him with a Certificate of Marriage from the Catholic parish where the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony was celebrated, or a recent baptism certificate (within the last 6 months) with notations on the back of the certificate indicating the marriage is recognized by the Church. For questions, call the parish office.
4. Next weekend, we will have the second collection for Las Cruces Diocese Catholic Schools. Our Catholic schools promote excellence in education and foster Christian spiritual, intellectual, and moral virtues in our students. Currently, the Diocese has four schools located in Roswell, Hobbs, Alamogordo, and Las Cruces. Funds from this collection help support and expand the availability of high-quality, Catholic education within our diocese. Thank you for your donations.
5. To learn more about the Jubilee year, please see the parish website and Facebook page.
Under the patronage of Our Lady, and centered around the Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, we will work together to spread Gospel values and the truth of the Catholic faith by living as examples of virtue, and in service to our church and community.
