ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH
1. In honor of St. Blaise Feast Day on Monday, February 3, Fr. Jarek will celebrate the Mass at 12:10 PM with the blessing of throats.
2. The St. Mary’s Craft Group will now be meeting on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. The next one is this coming Tuesday, February 4, at 9 AM in the parish hall. Please see the flyer for more information.
3. On February 8 and 9, the Bethlehem Holy Land Group will sell articles from the Holy Land after Masses.
This is a good opportunity to purchase gifts for Confirmation or First Holy Communion students while helping Christians in the Holy Land.
4. On February 11, our parish will host a blood drive by Vitalant in the parish hall. Please see the flyer on the bulletin boards for more information on how you can schedule an appointment to give blood, platelets, or plasma and receive a gift card.
5. All those couples who turned in their paperwork for Bishop Baldacchino to bless their 1st, 25th, 50th, or 50+ wedding anniversary in 2025, don’t forget the Mass at St. Peter Parish in Roswell will be on Wednesday, February 12 at 5:30 PM. There will also be a Mass at the Cathedral of Immaculate Heart of Mary in Las Cruces on Thursday, February 13 at 5:30 PM.
6. We need volunteers for various ministries in our parish, such as being an usher, lector, or taking Holy Communion to the homebound. If you would like to be a helper, please see the flyer in the bulletin. It has explanations of the ministries and also a form to fill out, which you can drop in one of the boxes in the Narthex of the church.
7. If you have special prayer requests, we will pray for these petitions on Fridays during Adoration. If someone is sick, we will pray for them by name at Adoration, as well as at the First Saturday 9:30 AM Mass. Please call the parish office, and we will add your petition to the list.
8. Feast of the Presentation introduces Jesus as the Light. The burning candle symbolizes His abiding presence in the midst of the Christian community.
When you get home, please light a candle and place it on the table. Say an Our Father and a Hail Mary. Finally, you can add: Jesus, Light of the World, enlighten this home with your presence. Amen.
Under the patronage of Our Lady, and centered around the Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, we will work together to spread Gospel values and the truth of the Catholic faith by living as examples of virtue, and in service to our church and community.
