ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH

Parish Announcements for the Week of 10/29/2023

October 30, 2023

1. Last week we started to replace the hall roof. As you probably remember the Church roof has also leaked a few times, so the plan is to further replace the church’s roof by the end of the year.

2. Each November, the Church celebrates two feast days, which are related to each other. All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day. On Wednesday, Nov. 1st, we will have two Masses, at 12:10 PM and 6 PM. Please remember that it is a Holy Day of Obligation. On Nov. 2nd the Mass will be at 12:10 PM. Both days at 3 PM we will have special prayer for our deceased at the Columbarium.

It is the last chance to bring the names of deceased loved ones. Please print the names and bring them to the church office. We will pray for them throughout November, during Masses and Adorations. Plenary Indulgences for All Souls Week is granted to the faithful from Nov. 1 - Nov. 8. For more information please check the poster on the bulletin boards.

3. Fr. Jarek and I [Fr. Ephraim] will participate in the Annual Diocese of Las Cruces Priests Retreat in Mexico City. We will be absent from Monday, November 6 to Saturday, November 11. More information will be shared next weekend. There will be no NMMI Mass next Sunday, November 5th.

4. The printing company sent us a short order of bulletins this week. If you would like a November calendar and we’ve run out of bulletins, they are available in the back of the church on the table near the south door.

5. The Prayer Chain for Life is happening this Sunday, the 29th. Meet us at Pioneer Plaza on Main St. to pray for life with fellow citizens! The intention will be to save babies and their mothers from becoming victims of abortion. At two o’clock, the silent vigil begins as we stand, or sit, in silence for one hour (please feel free to bring a chair).

6. In celebration of All Saints Day, students from All Saints Catholic School will be passing out collection envelopes and student-made prayer cards to benefit operational funds and scholarships. The school provides academic excellence and spiritual formation, builds leadership skills, and encourages service to others. All Saints Catholic School is currently enrolling Pre-K through 8th-grade students. Teachers, staff, the principal, and Board of Trustee members request prayers and support in their mission of “Building Saints Forever”.
