Parish Announcements For the Week of 11/13/22

1. There will be a “Thanks for Giving Mass” for United in Ministry with Bishop Peter Baldacchino for the Roswell Vicariate. The Mass will be held Friday, November 18, 6:00 PM, at St. Peter’s Church. The Mass is to include parishioners and priests from throughout the Roswell Vicariate. A reception will follow in St. Peter’s parish hall. Because the diocese celebrated the 40th anniversary since its inception on October 18, Bishop Baldacchino would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the anniversary of the diocese at the reception. There will be refreshments and cake.
2. We will have a Diocese special event -- the annual pilgrimage to Mount Cristo Rey. We will celebrate the Vigil Mass, presided by our bishop on Saturday, November 19th, 2022, at 3:00 PM on the top of the mountain. This Vigil Mass will be preceded by confessions, starting at 9:00 AM at the base of the mountain. Join us, along with your family and brothers and sisters from around the diocese, in such a great celebration!
3. Please remember Vivi Kreitz’s mom, Delfina’s, 100th birthday celebration, which will be celebrated next Saturday, November 19th, at 2 PM. Monday will be the last day to call the parish office and give the number of people who would like to participate in the reception.
4. As part of the Eucharistic Revival, I would like to invite parishioners to participate in sessions regarding “The Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist”. Our meetings will be during Advent on Fridays at 7 PM in the conference room. Next weekend, we will share more details.
5. After Mass, the Altar and Rosary Society will be selling raffle tickets for their Christmas baskets.
6. Next weekend, we will have a second collection for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, which addresses the root causes of poverty in America through the promotion and support of community-controlled, self-help organizations and transformative education.

Lord God, Almighty Father, creator of mankind and author of peace, as we are ever mindful of the cost paid for the liberty we possess, we ask you to bless the members of our armed forces. Give them courage, hope, and strength. May they ever experience your firm support, gentle love, and compassionate healing. Be their power and protector, leading them from darkness to light. To you be all glory, honor and praise, now and forever. Amen
