ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH

Parish Announcements for the Week of 2/19/23

February 21, 2023

1. As last weekend, also today after Mass, Parish Sanctity of Life Ministry members will stay with donation boxes in the back of the Church to support our brothers and sisters in Turkey and Syria. If you would like to prepare a check, please make it out to Assumption Parish with the memo: Earthquake. After Sunday, all donations will be sent to Catholic Relief Services. Online donation is also available. For more information, please check the CRS website. Thank you for your support.

2. The Grief Support Group again would like to invite all interested Parishioners to meetings that will take place at St. Peter Church Community Room from February 23rd to May 18th at 6 PM. For more information, please check the flyer.

3. On Wednesday, we will celebrate “Ash Wednesday”. There will be two Parish Masses at 12:10 PM and 6 PM; also, at NMMI Chapel there will be two ecumenical services at 12 PM and 12:30 PM.

4. On Fridays during Lent, we will have Stations of the Cross after 12:10 PM Mass and at 6 PM.

5. Also on Fridays during Lent, we will have a Eucharistic Revival program called  “Forgiven” at 7 PM. Please register with the parish office so that we know how many packets to provide. Please also take home the parish bulletin, where we have information regarding fasting and almsgiving and the Eucharistic Revival Program.

6. Join our faith community — and nearly 13,000 Catholic communities across the United States — in a transformative Lenten journey with the Rice Bowl. Pick up your family’s Rice Bowl from the back of the Church. During the 40 days of Lent, we will reflect on the impact of global hunger and vulnerable communities around the world, and we will pray, fast, and give alms to help our sisters and brothers in need.

7. The Parish Office will be closed on Monday, Feb. 20
th, in observance of Presidents Day.

8. On Ash Wednesday there will be a Second Collection to provide assistance to meet the needs of rebuilding the Church in Eastern Europe. This year, monies raised from this collection will be directed to war-stricken Ukraine. Thank you for your donations.
