ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH

Announcements for the Week of 12/24/2023

December 28, 2023
  1. This year, Christmas Eve is celebrated on Sunday evening, December 24. Please remember that because it is Sunday, it is not enough to attend one Mass on Sunday at 5:30 PM to fulfill the obligation to participate in both Sunday and Christmas Mass. We must attend Sunday Mass separately and attend Christmas Mass again. Christmas Eve Mass will be at 5:30 PM. Then, there will be Midnight Mass and Christmas Day Masses at 9 and 11 AM. Half an hour before Midnight Mass, we will have a Christmas Carol Concert. Please join us!
  2. The parish office will be closed on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and reopen on Thursday.
  3. On Thursday, there will be the annual Priests Christmas Social with Bishop Peter Baldacchino in Artesia at noon. Due to this meeting, the parish Thursday Mass will be celebrated at 9 AM, not at 12:10 PM.
  4. The 2024 calendar and The Word Among Us will be distributed next weekend (December 30 & 31).
  5. During the Eucharistic Revival, we would like to offer parish families a book written by Bishop Robert Barron. It will be the Assumption Parish New Year gift. Families who want to receive a free book should call the parish office.
  6. We would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas. During this season, we are celebrating Hope, Peace, Love, and Joy; we pray that all four of these will fill your life every way this Christmas and beyond. We are grateful to God. This Christmas, as in all previous years, we celebrate Emmanuel (God with us). Without Christ’s presence among us, we would be lost. Through God’s presence working within us, we are being healed, transformed, reconciled, and made whole. We pray you have a blessed Christmas.
