ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH

Parish Announcements for the Week of 1/18/2024

February 19, 2024
  1. THANK YOU again to our youth confirmation class students who helped serve the UIM luncheon. You did a fantastic job!
  2. The Good Samaritan needs blankets! They are requesting new or gently used blankets that have been washed. If you would like to donate, bring them to the parish office. Thank you!
  3. Thank you to those who have completed their UIM pledge! We are humbled by your generosity and support of the Diocese of Las Cruces 2024 United in Ministry Appeal. If you have yet to pledge a gift to the United in Ministry Appeal, we need your help to reach our parish goal. Please make your pledge and return it to the parish office or in the collection basket. Thank you for your support!!!
  4. Every Friday during Lent we have two Stations of the Cross, after 12:10 PM Mass and at 6 PM. During Lent, we will not offer homilies on Fridays. We hope that this will be helpful for the faithful who are attending Mass during lunchtime and would like to participate in the Stations of the Cross.
  5. From this coming Friday, February 23, we will start Lenten Sessions “The Seven Pillars of Catholic Spirituality” at 7 PM in the parish library. For more information, please check the poster.
  6. It is that time of year when Assumption parishioners gather food for the nuns at the Poor Clare Monastery. A list of needed items is provided on the bulletin board and online. Bring your items and place them in the boxes in the church foyer. We will collect food from this weekend until next Sunday, February 25. You can also bring items during the week, as the church is open from 8-5. Please remember the Poor Clares take a vow of poverty and rely on OUR GENEROSITY to help them with their needs.
  7. Thank you to the men who helped shovel the parking lot and the sidewalks last Sunday. You saved many legs.
  8. And now I would like to invite Mark Salas, our Parish Youth Director [gave announcement after Masses; see the poster regarding the youth pizza party above].
