ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH
1. After Mass, All Saints Catholic School PTS will be selling tickets for a fundraiser to raise money to buy a canopy for the new playground equipment.
2. The book “This is My Body” already arrived. Those families who signed up for free copies, please come after Mass to the priest’s sacristy to pick up your copy, or you can pick it up at the parish office during office hours.
3. Men ages 18 and over are invited to spend next weekend in prayer, discernment, and fraternity. For more information, please check the poster.
4. All couples married in the Catholic Church celebrating their Paper (1st), Silver (25th), Gold (50th), or 50-plus wedding anniversary in 2024, are invited to attend a Mass at the Cathedral of Immaculate Heart of Mary in Las Cruces on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 5:30 p.m., and at St. Peter Parish in Roswell on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., and receive a blessing from Bishop Peter Baldacchino. Couples wishing to celebrate these milestone anniversaries only, must register with their parish priest no later than January 25, 2024, and provide him with a Certificate of Marriage from the Catholic parish where the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony was celebrated, or a recent baptism certificate (within the last 6 months) with notations on the back of the certificate indicating the marriage is recognized by the Church. 5. The 51st-annual March for Life in Washington, D.C. “Proclaiming the Gift of Human Dignity”, will be held Friday, January 19. The March for Life website explains that the annual event will focus this year on support of continued legislative efforts to restrict abortion “until a culture of life is restored” in the U.S. On Friday during 11 a.m. Adoration, we will pray for the protection of human life. Please join us.
6. Next weekend, Sanctity of Life will be handing out carnations for donations to pro-life causes after all Masses. Bring your loved ones a bright spot in January and support life at the same time!
7. The parish office will be CLOSED on Monday, January 15 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. We will resume our regular hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16.
