Parish Announcements for the Week of 2/4/2024

February 5, 2024

1. The 29th Annual Mardi Gras/Valentine's Day Gala dinner and dance is the biggest fundraiser of the year for All Saints Catholic School; plus, it offers great food, music, and more. Tickets are $60 a person. Please call the school or see the flyer in the bulletin for more information.

2. The Altar & Rosary Society will be having a membership tea on Sunday, February 11 from 2 to 4 PM in the parish hall. For more info, please see the flyer in the bulletin or call the parish office.

3. On Sunday, February 11th at the NM Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum, our Diocese is organizing a “Theology of Style” conference for girls 12-17 and mothers. For more information please check to poster located in the back of the Church.

4. Next Saturday Fr. Ephraim is coming back after 7 weeks of vacation. Please pray for his safe travel.

5. The Good Samaritan needs blankets! They are requesting new or gently used blankets that have been washed. If you would like to donate, bring them to the Assumption office. Thank you!

6. Sanctity of Life would like to thank you for your generous donations when we distributed carnations on January 20 & 21. We were able to send $1,339.91 to Citizens for Life! Thank you!

7. We are one of not very many parishes in our Diocese that are offering confession before Daily Masses, not just once a week on Saturday. Also, we are one of a very few parishes with Saturday morning Mass. St. Augustine said: “The one who sings prays twice.” Daily Mass (usually in the US) is without music. Also, in our parish, this past few years, I wanted all Masses to have the liturgy music, and again to have the Youth Group. As you know, one of our parish musicians is Mark Salas, who covers most funerals, weddings, and special Masses. So, last week I hired a new employee very well-known in our Parish - Mark Salas. Let’s all welcome Mark as Parish Music Director, Sacristan, and Youth Director.

8. The United In Ministry Appeal (UIM) is an act by the Bishop in his duties as Shepherd of the Diocese, to promote and safeguard the unity of faith and the discipline common to the whole Church. It is also to instruct the faithful to love the whole Mystical Body of Christ and to promote activities of the Church, especially so that the faith may increase, and the light of full truth appear to all. The Appeal helps fund educational, pastoral, and charitable programs, in so far as it is able, by careful discernment of these apostolates and initiatives.

This weekend is Pledge Weekend. A gift to the UIM appeal is a wonderful way to share our blessings with others and to give thanks to God for all he has given us. I ask that you prayerfully consider a gift this year so Bishop Peter can ensure our Diocese continues to thrive. Please complete the intention form available in the back of the Church and return it in the envelope provided, or you can contribute during [Sunday’s] UIM Luncheon in the parish hall after the 11 AM Mass. Thank you for all your support and donations.
